Lipstick: The Inside Scoop

OK, so today we're going to talk about what lipstick you should use for different people and skin tones. Pretty much what works, and what doesn't in the world of lipstick.

Alright, so the first thing to work with is: You need to figure out what your undertone is. How do you do this? Simple. Look at the veins in your wrist. Are they blue, or are they more of a green color? If they're blue, you have undertones of pink, and if they're green, you have more of a yellow undertone. If you're lucky enough to have a cross between the two, you can wear any color! It means you have a combination of the two undertones and you're set!

Now for those of us who only have one undertone, if you turned up with pink, you are going to want to stick with colors that have a blue or purple tone to them, and if you turned up yellow, keep with warmer colors.

SO, in conclusion, if you're pale, stick to darker colors. If you use colors too light, it will most likely wash you out. If you have an olive skin tone, stick to lighter colors. And finally, if you have dark skin, keep to the darker colors. It will really bring out your beautiful skin.

Now, one little tip before we go: Do not match your lipstick with the color of outfit. If you wear a bright red dress with bright red lipstick, it's going to be very overwhelming. You don't want the only thing that people see when they look at you to be the color red!! My number one rule is: Never let your outfit take away from your look. This may seem weird, but your outfit and makeup should call more attention to your own beauty, not to theirs!
